The MOFO-X subwoofers are refined and dramatically increase efficiency. These MOFO subs utilize a composite sandwich cone with a polypropylene surface for durability and a Spruce pulp backing for smooth low-bass performance. Like the original MOFOs, the new models still feature an aluminum dust cap that couples to the voice coil former and extends over the cone. This design choice serves to brace the cone and eliminate flex during high excursion. Additionally, since the aluminum components are coupled to the voice coil, they act as a heatsink or heat extractor. Leveraging the latest materials, the new MOFO subs deliver superior performance.

The cast aluminum baskets provide a robust foundation, while the increased bottom octave output ensures powerful low-end reproduction. Compared to the original design, the new MOFO subs are even louder, making them a formidable choice for audio enthusiasts.

The package includes two (2) Power Acoustik MOFO-122X 12-inch 2,700-watt car audio subwoofers. These subs boast a range of advanced features, such as an overcompensating motor structure for increased magnetic strength, a 12mm T-yoke and top plate for improved low-frequency dynamics, and a vented T-yoke and frame to reduce voice coil heat buildup.

The die-cast aluminum heat sink dust cap efficiently absorbs voice coil heat, while the aluminum dust cap fins dissipate heat and strengthen the cone. The non-magnetic, non-resonant die-cast aluminum frame provides a sturdy foundation. The 2.5-inch, 4-layer voice coil with large-gauge wire increases the subwoofer's power handling capabilities.

To withstand the rigors of high-performance audio, the MOFO-122X subs feature high-temperature tolerance adhesives that resist thermal failure. The nickel-plated 8-gauge spring-loaded compression wire terminals ensure secure and reliable connections.

The non-transfer Spruce pulp cone with UV and chemical protection, combined with the high-density polyether foam surround, also feature UV and chemical protection, ensuring long-lasting performance. The dual poly-cotton suspension dampens violent accelerations, while the stitched voice coil leads prevent potential damage.

Included with the subwoofers is a 1-piece gasket/trim ring with concealed mounting holes, providing a clean and seamless installation.
